سقط توتنهام بالخسارة 2-1 أمام نيوكاسل، في المباراة التي جمعت بينهما ضمن الجولة الثالثة من بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز على ملعب سانت جيمس بارك.
وشهدت المواجهة بين الفريقين حدثاً نادراً في ملاعب كرة القدم بتعرض الحكم المساعد للإصابة.
حيث تعرض الحكم المساعد في مباراة نيوكاسل يونايتد وتوتنهام هوتسبير، إيان حسين، للإصابة في الفخذ وعلى إثرها غادر اللقاء بحلول الدقيقة 16.
وحل دارين بوند بدلاً من الحكم إيان حسين، والآن أصبح الحكم الرابع دارين بوند يحمل العلم في يده ليدير الخط على الجانب الذي يهاجم فيه نيوكاسل من الجهة اليمنى بالشوط الأول.
ملعب الماكبايس كان حماسيًا منذ البداية، مما قاد نيوكاسل لتسجيل هدف التقدم عن طريق هارفي بارنس بعد عمل كبير ورائع من جويلنتون، ليحتفل لاعب ليستر سيتي السابق بطريقة محمد صلاح في الدقيقة 37.
انتهى الشوط الأول بتقدم أصحاب الأرض بهدف بارنس، وفي الشوط الثاني، تمكن توتنهام من تسجيل هدف التعادل، بعد أن حوّل دان بيرن الكرة بالخطأ في مرماه، بطريقة كوميدية في الدقيقة 56.
خرج بارنس ودخل مورفي، ثم أقحم إيدي هاو ساندرو تونالي مكان لونجستاف، وكذلك لويس هال مكان كيلي.
على الجانب الآخر، أقحم بوستكوجلو، تيمو فيرنر مكان ويلسون، ولكنه كان شاهدًا على الهدف الثاني لـ نيوكاسل في الدقيقة 78 عن طريق الهداف إيزاك.
هدف إيزاك جاء بعد عرضية من البديل مورفي، وبعد عمل كبير من جويلنتون مثلما حدث في الشوط الأول، ليصبح توتنهام الفريق المفضل لـ السويدي، بتسجيله الهدف الخامس في مواجهتهم بالتساوي مع وست هام.
ظل توتنهام يبحث عن التعادل، ولكن دفاعات نيوكاسل كانت بالمرصاد، ليؤمن رجال إيدي هاو الفوز ويحصد 3 نقاط هامة أمام سبيرز.
هذه النتيجة تجعل رصيد نيوكاسل 7 نقاط في المركز الرابع مؤقتًا، بينما توتنهام يتراجع للمركز العاشر بعدما توقف رصيده عند 4 نقاط.

The Spaniard, alongside Destiny Udogie at left-back, have been absolutely pivotal to Postecoglou's system with both playing a crucial role. Porro and Udogie are tasked with stepping into midfield and providing width further up the pitch as Tottenham's inverted full-backs, and the pair have proved incredible going forward.

The duo have bagged a combined 10 assists in the Premier League alone this season, and currently sit in Spurs' top 10 for key passes made per 90 in the final third (WhoScored). Porro in particular has averaged more crosses into the box per game than any other Tottenham player in the league this season (WhoScored), with pundit Stephen Warnock summing up exactly why the 24-year-old and Udogie are so important.
"The way Tottenham play this season, everybody talks about the spine of the team, but it’s actually the fullbacks who are the most important players,” said Warnock on The Sky Sports Football Show (via HITC).
“And I am made up to say that. It makes me very happy. They change the way that they play. Udogie doesn’t play as a conventional fullback or as an overlapping fullback.
“Incredibly, I saw an article on this a few weeks ago where he has actually completed the most dribbles in midfield. That tells you everything about the type of player he is and where he is playing on the pitch, so often, you see him and Porro in centre-forward positions or number 10 positions."

However, as we've seen with Udogie's season-ending injury, absences can befall Postecoglou's key stars at any moment – and Porro is no exception. Tottenham have been linked with signing another right-back to stand in for Porro, especially with current understudy Emerson looking more and more like he'll be quitting this summer.
Tottenham have option to sign Walker-Peters for £30 million
One name to be mentioned recently is former Spurs starlet Kyle Walker-Peters, who they sold to Southampton. The Englishman, who has starred for Southampton over 2023//2024, is being linked with a return to north London. HITC have an update on this, and they claim Tottenham have a Walker-Peters buy-back clause of around £30 million.
They're apparently ready to make a move for the Saints defender at the end of this season, but will be looking to make a deal at around £20 million instead. They're also ready to let the "relentless" Emerson depart, with Walker-Peters potentially coming in as a replacement for the Brazilian.
The 27-year-old, who Russell Martin called a "beautiful footballer", could be a great option given the fact he's also homegrown.

“They are two outstanding players, and it would have been a big day for them, coming back to their former club”, he explained. “I thought they did themselves proud, both in and out of possession. Our full-backs are such a big part of what we do, and how we attack. I thought they used the ball really well.
“They were given tough examinations, they were up against very good opponents. But I was really pleased with both of their performances.”
Still just 22-years-old, Livramento is likely to be Newcastle’s first choice fullback for much of the next decade should he remain at St James’ Park, and could well go on to become a legend on Tyneside if his early performances are anything to go by. Now, Newcastle want to repeat that trick.

That comes as Football Insider report that the Magpies are ready to fight it out with Manchester United to sign impressive young forward Tyler Dibling from Southampton.
Though the Saints have just a single win to their name so far this season, Dibling has been a sole bright spark for the club, with the teenager turning in a string of excellent performances.

Speaking on Match of the Day, former Premier League ace Danny Murphy revealed he expects Dibling to become a star: “It is the quality he has got – the belief in himself and the physical power. He just goes past people with ease. He has got a lovely left foot. He is very brave on the ball and his decision-making is good.
“It is difficult to get too over the top with these young players, because he has just come on to the scene, but he is going to be something special.”

His form has caught the eye of other Premier League sides, while he is down to the final 18 months of his £5,000-a-week deal on the South coast and is yet to pen fresh terms, leaving clubs sniffing a potential opportunity.
Newcastle are one of those sides, with Howe’s side “keeping tabs on his progress”, while his additon would fit into their plan “to give young English talents a chance to shine” on Tyneside.
Though a deal in January is unlikely, Dibling could be available in the summer should Southampton get relegated, in the same way that Livramento moved away following their relegation in 2022.
Like two years ago, Newcastle could offer the perfect destination for a young talent to develop, while they would simultaneously solve their problematic right-wing position, which is believed to be their priority in the coming windows.

Pakistan will not pull out of their upcoming bilateral series against Afghanistan, like Australia did, with PCB chairman Najam Sethi saying that “cricket and politics should be kept separate”. The series in March, however, will now comprise three T20Is and not ODIs and will be played at an offshore venue, with the Afghanistan and Pakistan boards sharing the revenue 50-50.On January 12, Cricket Australia had announced its decision to withdraw from playing Afghanistan because of the Taliban’s “further restrictions on women’s and girls’ education” in Afghanistan. When asked about PCB’s stance on the issue, Sethi said: “That is not our business and we don’t like to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries. The switch from ODIs to T20Is was made because both Pakistan and Afghanistan have already qualified for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India and so the World Cup Super League points don’t matter so much.”I met with the executive members of Afghanistan Cricket Board and they were asking us to play a (ODI) series but we didn’t find any attraction playing the series,” Sethi said at a press conference on Monday. “It’s mainly because the series was meant for the [Super League] points, and now no matter who wins it won’t make a difference.
