An appeal by a prominent player agent against his five-year ban from cricket-related activity has been dismissed by an independent arbitrator, which upheld the original finding by the Cricket Regulator in March, that he had made a corrupt approach to the head coach of an English county.Moghees Ahmed, who fronts the International Cricketers Association and represents a number of prominent Pakistan players, was found to have proposed an arrangement whereby a coach would receive a share of his commission in exchange for selecting certain players he represents in franchise leagues.The coach reported the approach later that day, and after a tribunal had been satisfied that the case met the necessary criteria, he was found guilty of four charges of breaching the ECB’s anti-corruption code and had his registration to act as an agent suspended in August.He was “declared ineligible” for five years from March 26, 2025, with the first 30 months served in full and the remaining 30 suspended on condition of no further offences and the completion of an anti-corruption education programme.Ahmed told ESPNcricinfo at the time that he categorically denied all allegations made against him and rejected the decisions of the ECB tribunal. His appeal was lodged on the grounds that the Cricket Discipline Commission had reached a decision on the evidence that no reasonable tribunal could have made and had misdirected itself as a matter of law as to the interpretation of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.However, an independent arbitrator, Raj Parker, dismissed the grounds of the appeal, stating that the tribunal’s verdict had been reached “after careful examination of the evidence and an assessment of the credibility of the complainant and Mr Ahmed”.Chris Haward, the managing director of the Cricket Regulator, said: “We welcome the decision of the Sole Arbitrator dismissing the appeal and upholding the decision of the CDC.”The decision of the Arbitrator reinforces the position that the actions of Mr Ahmed can correctly be described as corrupt conduct. The Cricket Regulator will ensure that where there is corrupt conduct suspected it will be investigated and those responsible held to account.”

O Brusque e Júlio Antônio Petermann foram punidosno 243-G do Código Brasileiro de Justiça Desportiva (CBJD) que fala em “praticar ato discriminatório, desdenhoso ou ultrajante, relacionado a preconceito” em julgamento realizado em 24 de setembro. O clube catarinense perdeu três pontos e recebeumulta de R$ 60 mil. Júlio Antônio Petermann foi suspenso por 360 dias e multado em R$ 30 mil.

The ultra-successful Spaniard is also a manager who isn’t afraid to test out starlets if he deems they’re first-team ready, as seen in him handing Bury-born Rico Lewis 102 senior appearances to date, after first making a name for himself at the Etihad in the U18 and U21 ranks.
Reigan Heskey will hope he’s the next up-and-coming sensation that is gifted some opportunities in the senior picture, with the 17-year-old winger already being dubbed an “unbelievable” talent for the future by one of his coaches at City in Ben Wilkinson.
He could even be the perfect solution to City’s Savinho troubles, with the Liverpool-born attacker standing out as an extremely direct option down the South American’s left channel, when looking at his flashy highlight reel above.
Indeed, across 57 appearances in various youth set-ups in Manchester, Heskey has established himself as a tricky forward option who, most importantly, has the goals and assists in his locker to back up all his tricks and flicks, with a lethal 31 goals collected.
It is for that reason that he has been likened to another Manchester-born star in the form of ex-Manchester United hero Marcus Rashford, with analyst Ben Mattinson praising his “Rashford-like ability as an inside forward to stretch the defence”.

The next major step Heskey will have to make is breaking into the first-team picture, with Guardiola actually handing him first first-ever senior opportunity just this season in the EFL Cup versus Huddersfield Town, with the young Englishman also coincidentally replacing the aforementioned Savinho for the final seven minutes.
Of course, Guardiola won’t just discard the 13-time Brazil international completely, considering he does have four goals and 15 assists next to his name in City Sky blue, away from his poor opening to this season.
But, he will surely be tempted to throw Heskey into the men’s side more regularly now to give the out-of-sorts attacker more competition, with the potential also very much there for the 17-year-old to surpass Savinho down the line, if his blistering academy numbers can be translated to the senior game.

Arsenal are apparently willing to listen to offers for Partey, following a season riddled with injuries and a lack of opportunities for the Ghanaian in Arteta's starting elevens. Saud sides are also reportedly considering a "lucrative" contract offer to tempt Partey, alongside his teammate Gabriel Jesus, to the Middle East.
If the 30-year-old does end up leaving, Arsenal will need a replacement and potential partner for star man Declan Rice. According to widespread media reports, dating as far back as last year, Arteta's side are set to try and bring in a star midfielder this year.
"Arsenal have decided they will sign a new defensive midfielder in 2024 and a deal will happen," wrote journalist Pete O'Rourke for Football Insider in December.
"It is believed the Gunners will endeavour to boost their midfield options in the upcoming January window but are willing to wait until the summer for the right player. Pelo Tigre do ABC, onde é capitão, Mafra disputou 4 jogos e marcou um gol. Ele começou a sua carreira no Londrina, onde atuou na Copa São Paulo de Futebol Jr, Copa do Brasil Sub-20 e Paranaense Sub-19. No Tubarão, jogou 32 partidas e marcou dois gols.
Depois teve a oportunidade de estrear no profissional pelo Cianorte (PR), quando entrou em campo diante do Santos pela Copa do Brasil. Ainda atuou no empate contra o Boavista (RJ) pelo Campeonato Brasileiro da Série D. Logo após, se transferiu ao time Sub-20 do São Bernardo, onde atualmente joga no Campeonato Paulista da categoria.
O atleta de 19 anos já foi campeão paranaense pelo Sub-15 do Coritiba e Sub-20 do Londrina. Mafra é a grande aposta da diretoria para o time profissional e uma das grandes esperanças de venda para clubes maiores do futebol brasileiro e internacional.
