Scamacca's time at West Ham

Back in the summer of 2022, West Ham signed Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, joining the club for a whopping £35.5m, and signing a five-year deal at the club.

In his one and only season at the club, Scamacca made 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals, and totaling 1,342 minutes played. The Italian only managed three Premier League goals in his time with the Hammers.

Scamacca did suffer four injuries, three coming in the second half of the season in 2022/23, missing a total of 172 days, and 27 games.

This included the forward having knee surgery in April, and missing the end of the campaign. It's safe to say his spell in east London wasn't the best.

After his injury-ridden season, reports started to emerge that Scamacca wanted to return to Italy, and this eventually saw the centre-forward move to Atalanta after just one hopeless year in England.

What Scamacca has done after leaving West Ham

Since his return to Serie A, Scamacca has won the Europa League, even defeating Liverpool in the process. He made 44 appearances for Atalanta in all competitions, scoring 19 times and providing eight assists in 2,319 minutes played which is form that saw him made the starting striker for Italy at Euro 2024, where they lost 2-0 to Switzerland in the round of 16.

As a result, the 25-year-old outscored West Ham's new striker signing, Fullkrug, in the 2023/24 campaign. So, the question is, did West Ham make a mistake selling him so early? Scout Jacek Kulig once described Scamacca as a "deadly" asset and he could already be rediscovering that prolific form in Italy.

Scamacca outperformed Fullkrug in many metrics last season, including both goals and assists. His goals per 90 were nearly double that of Fullkrug, scoring at a rate of 0.20 goals/shot, compared to the Germans' 0.13 ratio.

The Italian took 3.74 shots per 90, averaging 1.56 shots on target, which is a better shooting volume than Fullkrug, and gives him that extra edge as a goal threat. His box touches sitting at 5.59 per 90 also helps, as he averages more touches in the box, where he can be most dangerous.

One area Fullkrug did outperform Scamacca last campaign was in the aerials won metric, despite being 6 foot 2, compared to Scamacca who is 6 foot 5, the former actually managed more than double the aerials won per 90 than the former Hammer.

Scamacca has now suffered a cruciate ligament tear which looks set to keep him out for at least 6 months, so maybe the injury issues at West Ham were enough for them to look elsewhere, but one thing is for sure, when he is fit and firing, there are few as prolific in Italy.

According to Il Mattino [via Sport Witness], Manchester United appear to have accepted a €25m (£21.1m) offer for Scott McTominay from Napoli, as his time at Old Trafford seemingly nears its conclusion after a fresh development.

It is claimed that the Scot has agreed on a four-year contract at the Serie A giants, with the fee mentioned above believed to include bonuses.

United supporters may be split about the club's decision to allow McTominay to leave, with some feeling he is an expendable figure and others seeing him as a squad player with an eye for goal from midfield.

The 27-year-old featured as a substitute in the defeat to Brighton, but the fact that he didn't start again highlighted his squad status, and with Ugarte or Andre potentially coming in as well in the near future, his minutes could be lessened further.

For that reason, it could be the right decision to move the £60,000-a-week-earning McTominay on, receiving a good amount of money for him in the process, and allowing him to be a regular elsewhere.

أولًا: بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا تحت 20 سنة

اطّلع المجلس على خطاب الاتحاد الإفريقي لكرة القدم (كاف) بإسناد تنظيم بطولة أمم إفريقيا تحت 20 عامًا إلى مصر، في الفترة من 27 أبريل حتى 18 مايو 2025، مع اعتماد الموافقة الرسمية من الحكومة المصرية.

نظرًا لضيق الوقت، تقرر:

تكليف المدير التنفيذي وجميع إدارات الاتحاد بتنفيذ المهام التنظيمية وفقًا لاختصاص كل إدارة، مع إشراف ومتابعة أعضاء المجلس.

تعيين المهندس أحمد مجاهد، عضو لجنة الحوكمة بالكاف، منسقًا عامًا للبطولة بين الاتحادين المصري والإفريقي.

تشكيل لجنة الاتصال الحكومي من المستشارين ووكلاء الوزارة المرشحين من وزارة الشباب والرياضة.

اعتماد الموازنة التقديرية للبطولة، وإخطار وزارة الشباب والرياضة رسميًا بها.

ثانيًا: المنتخبات الوطنية

الموافقة على برنامج إعداد المنتخب الأول خلال فترة الأجندة الدولية في يونيو المقبل.

تكليف الدكتور علاء عبد العزيز، مدير إدارة المنتخبات، برئاسة بعثة منتخب الصالات للسيدات المشاركة في بطولة أمم إفريقيا بالمغرب.

ثالثًا: شئون اللاعبين

اعتماد لائحة شئون اللاعبين الجديدة المقدمة من لجنة تطوير اللوائح، بما يتوافق مع معايير الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا)، تمهيدًا لإرسالها للفيفا لاعتمادها. ويبدأ تطبيقها رسميًا اعتبارًا من 1 يونيو 2025.

رابعًا: فترات القيد لموسم 2025-2026

تم تحديد فترات القيد كالتالي:

الفترة الأولى: من 2 يونيو حتى 7 أغسطس 2025.

القائمة الأولى: من 2 حتى 20 يونيو.

قوائم الإضافة: تُغلق منتصف ليل 7 أغسطس.

الفترة الثانية: من 1 يناير حتى 12 فبراير 2026.

خامسًا: تراخيص الأندية

الموافقة على بدء إجراءات منح التراخيص للأندية وفقًا للمعايير المعتمدة، وفق الجدول التالي:

تقديم الملفات: من 15 مايو حتى 10 يونيو.

صدور قرارات لجنة التراخيص: 19 يونيو.

فترة الطعون: من 20 حتى 25 يونيو.

البَتّ في الاستئنافات: 26 يونيو.

إعلان القرار النهائي: 29 يونيو 2025.

تكليف المدير التنفيذي بمخاطبة الأندية لحثها على الاستعداد والتقدم بطلبات الحصول على التراخيص في المواعيد المحددة.

سادسًا: تطوير كرة القدم المصرية

تفويض المهندس هاني أبو ريدة بدعوة أندية القسمين الأول والثاني لاجتماع لمناقشة تصور المسابقات في الموسم الجديد.

تنظيم ثلاث ورش عمل خلال مايو المقبل لمناقشة تطوير مسابقات الناشئين، بحضور مسؤولي قطاعات الناشئين بالأندية والفروع.

يتولى وليد درويش، عضو المجلس، عرض التوصيات النهائية للورش تمهيدًا لإعداد جدول مسابقات الموسم القادم.

سابعًا: إيفاد الحكام

تفويض المدير التنفيذي باعتماد سفر الحكام المكلّفين بإدارة مباريات من قبل الفيفا أو الكاف أو الاتحادات الوطنية الأخرى، بشرط عدم تحمل الاتحاد المصري أي أعباء مالية في هذا الشأن.
